Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

Since the Kv2 isn't out yet, it will be hard to find opinions or comparisons on it

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

The Kv2 won't ship until mid june so if you want something now get a shiva...theres some on ebay brand new for 125 shipped...I figure they would be fairly comparable other then the fact that a shiva is gunna be better in a larger snclosure while the kv2 in a smaller one.

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

so with my amp, would I want to order dual -4 ohm or dual -2 ohm?

and then whichever one I get, how should I wire it to the amp?

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

Get the dual 4 and wire it series/parallel...I doubt that amp is 1 ohm stable so there is no point in getting the dual 2.. Have you ever seen that amp push? I have one and took it out replacing it with a JBL 1200.1, after I had it hooked up I took it straight out blowing both 25A fuses on the amp b/c I didn't even take the time to unhook the + from the battery..for about $90 more for the JBL it was well worth it..but thats MO

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

How exactly does the cone on the ED sub work? It isn't even really a cone, because it has a flat front to it....ive never seen that before

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

Those are still called cones, convex, concave, are the ones you are used to, cone is just the name for that part of the sub. It works like any other sub, just amazing bass reproduction.

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

So I was looking at the ED site, and (in the eK12) they have either a single 4-ohm voice coil, or dual-4 ohm voice coils. When i looked at their wiring diagrams, is looked like that with th DVC one, i could only get either 2 ohms in parallel, or 8 ohms in series. would it be better to get a DVC and run it at 2 ohms? or a single 4-ohm and run the system at 4 ohms (amp specs top of page)

Re: Adire vs. Elemental Designs

If you only got one sub, then you would want the single 4ohm so you could bridge the amp to it
