Is there a way to get them without using a scan tool? I could do it on my old Chrysler by doing key on-off-on-off-on, while never going to the start position. The check engine light would flash the codes then.
Is there a similar way to do this on the Sunfire? The check engine light is on and I want to find out the code. Thanks a bunch!!! Have a good one!! Dan

Re: Diagnostic trouble codes.
You can go to Auto Zone. They'll scan your car for free.
