Thumbs up Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

Ive noticed a whole lot of questions that could easily been answered if everyone here had a haynes manual. Not only for Camaro's but for any car. Belive me guys, this thing will tell you EVERYTHING about your car, torque specifications, installation and dissasembaly, EVERYTHING.

You can get a Haynes Manual from any auto pats store like Kragen, Auto Zone, or Car Quest.

Re: Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

exactly.. one may achieve many answers from a Haynes manual.. but what would the point in buying one be if someone else can help you for free? does the Haynes manual answer that question?

Re: Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

well, the hayens manual is good, but there is no replacement for experience, i have the hayens, manual, shop manual, and years of experience, and ive learned things from guys on the forum here. and to be honest, the haynes manual is overrated, especialy if you have an electrical problem. its all but useless.

Re: Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

HAYNES MANUAL IS INCORRECT IN A FEW DIFFERENT AREAS!

TQ specs are one Area that it gives some false info... I remember going to the haynes manual to reference a tq spec a couple years ago (don't remember the job) and it was giving a very high TQ spec for a Fastener too small for the given tq.

If AF does not want Tech questions asked here (isn't that what forums are for?), goto CamaroZ28.com or LS1tech.com (come over to www.SCFYB.com if you are in South Carolina or nearby).

Re: Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

hey deadcarny, has anyone here other than vetteman bitched about answering tech questions???? perhaps you should generalize the whole forum. not to be a little girl about it, but i think i do a pretty good job of tryin to help people out with tech problems. and i also pointed out that the haynes isnt a holy grail of info. so take a breath calm down, and lets all play nice

Re: Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

I got mine and I think it is EXTREMELY lacking... if you want to do a VERY simple job, say change bulbs or signals or something, it leaves out all the details... it's be nice for it to say what the replacement bulb is, or what size sockets you'll be needed for the job, now wouldn't it.

Re: Technical Questions On Your Camaro? Haynes Manual!

I pretty sure will still be here anserwing questions and all. Someone will always post something. Even if their is a problem they can find out in the manual, still manual might not be enough information.

I guess I was under the Impression that Vetteman was a Moderator here at AF. On my forums that I am the Admin of, if a moderator posts something it is because Myself, the other Admin, our Webmaster, or other moderators have agreed that it should be posted. In this case, I took it as Vetteman was a moderator and was speaking on behalf of an AF policy that 'Easy General tech' should be left out or something. LOL.
