im pretty sure you need to have the bellhousing reshaped for it to fit.
But why would you want to swap in that V8?
the vg30dett is much lighter and can make more power.

Are you sure about that? The aluminum block VH45 only weighs 521lbs, according to an article in Road & Track. Just as an example, an iron block RB25 weighs around 720lbs, according to SCC. Don't know what the VG weighs, but it could be close to that, since it's an iron block six-cylinder as well.

Tuned right, the VH can offer a lot of potential power, and far more torque. Have you seen the pics going around of the blue OG Z with a VH swap and a twin turbo system? It's got 720rwhp, almost certainly more torque than the smaller VG could dream of, and probably room for even more power.

Re: vh45de and vg30dett tranny

VQuick, Your right, the VH45DE and VK45DE is lighter than the VG30DETT. Also the VG30DETT has 300HP, and the VK45DE which is a NA has 340HP. That's just for starts. The Infiniti Indy engine is built on the VK45 engine. Hmmmmm. Also if you use the Infiniti bellhousing you can bolt the engine up to the Z32 RE4R03A transmission. So all you Z32 NA owners that are tired of being bad mouthed, and want to put the ouch on the TT's here's a good swap.
KHFROMHB your wrong, the VG30DETTis heaver and cannot make more power than the VK45DE. Stick with fact's and not "I think" or you believe's. Nothing wrong saying I don't know, besides I think it would be a good swap. Make the car lighter, more power and for a plus handle better. Ask me how I know.
