Re: idle problems

My son's car 97 Civic revs up and down at neutral and sometimes when driving. I put in a fuel intake cleaner into the gasoline tank filled it up and so far the problem has not returned. I posted the problem under 92 + Civic in this AF forum and one replied that it did that when his oxygen sensor shorted.

i replaced the iac valve... my car still does t his crap... when i turn it on in the morning it revs like 2300 rpms.. then when it warms up it still stays at 1800 to 2000 it wont go lower... i rev it and it drops to 1,000 then split second later it bounces back up and idles at 1800 to 2000... i have no idea whats wrong but its ANNOYING and can't be good for the engine

Re: idle problems

have you tried the engine temp sensor? lots of probs with these.when they go wrong the computor senses cold all the time, hence high revs.
