The digital display on my 2000 Firebird Monsoon Radio had it's backlight go out. The radio works fine and the information is there if you shine a flashlight on it. Does anyone have any experience fixing something like this? I'm pretty handy and electronically oriented - but I don't want to tear everything out without a clue about success.

Re: Monsoon Radio Display Light

Re: Monsoon Radio Display Light
I've done a little more searching and found that there is a bulb, and a company here in michigan Specmo (I think) sells them. But I'm going to pull this out probably over the weekend and I'm sure I can find some bulb that will work. Or install some led's in there with some resistors.

Re: Monsoon Radio Display Light
i actually took out my radio and found the bulb. i replaced it with another bulb from radioshack but apparantly im using one that requires a smaller amount of current, which causes it to light up when the car is off. i guess the radio has a small amount of current running through it that still lights up this bulb. did you guys ever find a solution to yalls problems?
