Angry A/C problem 91 chevy

I have a 91 Z-71 and I am haveing problems with my a/c. It will work for a wile but when it stops the a/c light on the control panel starts blinking. my owners manual says it does that to indicate a problem with the a/c but it does not say what. I thought it might be low of freon but I had it checked and thay said it was ok. so I dont know what it is thinks for the help.

The blinking light is supposed to mean the system is low on freon, However there was a TSB on certain ones because this saftey feature was malfunctioning and sayin it is low on freon when it is not. There is a wire on the back of the head unit that needs to be cut and grounded I believe. I did it on my 92 ,But I can't remember the details. It is most likely either low on freon or it is what the TSB is about. Disconnect the battery to reset it and try it again and if you can get it to work and the air is cold it isn't low on freon. Go to aircondition.com and they will help you fix it.The fix for the TSB is very simple and worked on mine.

Re: A/C problem 91 chevy

What is a TSB? Which wire needs to be cut and grounded?

Technical Service Bulletin. You can actually read these on www.autozone.com, register to become a user and enter your truck information, they will give you all the current recalls and TSBs!!!

JAC-Z71, If you go to aircondition.com someone on there will tell you where to get the TSB(technical service bulletin) and the procedure to repare it. I will see if I still have the papers when I get home from work.
If you can't find it let me know and I will pull my head unit out and look at it to see.

JAC-Z71, go to this link and it is the procedure that I am talking about for the flashing light. If your A/C does indeed work good for a short period and then quit it is not low on freon, Do the procedure in this link and reconnect your battery and your problem should be solved.
