Need help! Wont start

I have an 85' GMC Jimmy S15. Alternator over charged and barried the volt gage. I turned off the ignition, took a look under the hood. Went to start it back up and nothing. Anything that uses the ignition to be turned on wont work now. I replaced the alternator and still nothing. Is there a relay or fuse under the hood that could have blown?

There are fusable links on some wires under the hood, check the wires from the battery for a place on the wire that is larger than the rest of the wire. Check for voltage at the ends of the wires

Well I found the problem. There was a wire by the starter that fried in two.
