Unhappy Transmission issues

Anyone have any problems with thier Transmission. I have a 95 Olds Cutlass Supreme with the 3.1 with about 143,000 miles on it. HAd to get the trans rebuilt because of a bucking when shifting from first to second gear, then something broke within the trans like a gear and then i had a grinding noise whenever i drove it. Not very happy about putting in that much money, but cant complain, havent put a dime in the car since i got it (48,000).

I too have a 95 cutlass supreme 3.1L and I just passed 140,000 miles. Your message scares me because I have started to notice some rough shifts and a gentle clunk sound going from 1st to 2nd.

Please tell me how much it cost you to have the transmission rebuilt.

Question

Well it sounds like you may be having the same problem or beginning of the same problem i have. While i know there could be hundreds of differences its still not running right. I would if i were you get it checked out first before you do anything, just to make sure. Even do a fluid flush and filter replacement. This may do nothing but if it fixed it, it would save you lots of money. I did not have my transmission rebuilt. After dealing with 2 AAMCO shops i didnt trust them and heard that rebuilding at times can not be that good. So i went with a remanufactured transmission from Jasper. I heard and read that they were the best for that. It cost me about $2400 dollars for reman. and install. It comes with a 3 year 75000 mile warrenty, so i figured you cant beat that. Hope all this helps, and good luck.
