85 325e a/c relay problems

I just aquired an '85 325e reasonable with many problems. needed p/s rack (5 leaks) replaced w/used , brakes warning light on but ok, some body work (hammered out and repaint), headlight (new and rebuild holder), leaks in trumk (all day in rain but got it done, silicone on tail light gaskets & adjust trunk lid) a/c a bugger, no aux fan w/a/c s/w on. (all relays good) spent days in thought and trouble shooting, had almost given up but decided to check ground on aux low speed relay and found none.... soldered a wire connection under the printed circut board to ground wire and we were off.... seems much better a/c than my '95 318is can that be???.
