Angry Help!! 97 S-10 Not starting!!!

Okay here's my problem! We have a 1997 Chevy S-10, 2.2L, Manual transmission. The other day hubby driving to work, it died. Will not start since. It turns over, but not starting. Voltage guage in dash panel, showing 9 even when you turn the key. No dummy lights are coming on, not at all, not even for second. But battery is fully charged, lights and all other electronics work.

Today went outside and checked for spark. No spark!!! Help, what could be causing this. We really need this truck fixed, like yesterday!!

Thanks to any that can help!!

im not sure if this is your problem or not, but i had a neon that had the same problem, some how the coil(where the spark plug wires come off of, should be on the left side of your motor towards the bottom on the s10) got damaged, it wouldnt get anyspark at all... you can check it to see if its cracked or someone like that, good luck

Re: Help!! 97 S-10 Not starting!!!

No the coil is fine, already eliminated that but thank you, turns out it is one of 2 things. It is either a crackshaft sensor causing this problem, or the ignition switch. Have pinpointed that much, today we are supposed to test to find out if the crackshaft sensor needs to be replaced. No test for the ignition switch, but if it is not the sensor than that is the other logical answer. Will keep all posted, seems to be common prob. with S-10's from other posts I have read.

Thanks
