Possible? I am sure it is but I think you will be on your own for this, breaking new ground as it were.
FWIW there is a turbo kit available for your truck already, but if you are set on the swap best of luck and send us some pics!!

Heres a site with pics of a toyota truck (89 - 94) model with a 2jz power plant. So I think it can be done.http://www.supertmotorsports.com/dave.html

Re: 22R to 7MGTE engine swap

I've seen a page about a 5MGE being swapped into a First Gen 4runner...
The 5MGE is out of a MK2 Supra, which was still part of the celica line at the time..and the celicas came with a RE22 (well this is what I read on that page) so I don't think its AS hard to swap in a 5mge.

I'm sure it can be done, but you'll also need to swap in the tranny as the tranny on the 7m is built to hold its power.

Good luck with it if you want to do this. Remember, with time, money, tools, and skills, you can swap anything into anything. I have a video of a dodge omni doing a 11 sec 1/4 beating a Z06 vette by a few tenths...so yeah anything is possible.

There was a guy who did a 22R to 7MGTE swap in his 85 pickup.

Nice link, but I don't have it anymore...

Here's some that I have found:

7MGTE swap into 4-Runner

7MGE swap into 4-Runner

I for one would like to upgrade the 22R in my '88 pickup to a 22RTE.

Has anyone done that conversion from normal aspirated to turbo?
Any pros/cons regarding the conversion that I should be aware of?

I have a Toyota CT26 at my disposal for the project.

Thanks!
