Angry 0 PSi on No. 3 Cylinder!?!

Long story short, something bad happened to my car. I was driving to work and I came to a light and the car is miss firing and poping from the exhaust and shaking bad. I figured maybe an ingnition problem because a vavle is tapping really really bad it sounds like. So I switched dizzy and nothing. Thought maybe bad gas. But no luck. Oil is clean. The head was warped though. I been driving with it like that. Oil is deffiently in the anti-freeze but nothing in the oil. I ran a compression test and all cylinders buy No. 3 are pumping out. I even poured some oil into it and still got 0. The funny thing about it is the car runs great. It's only when idling that it's about to die and all nuts and shaking. I drove it up a hill, down the block and all over. It seems fine but it's like I'm missing a cylinder. Tried adjusting the valves on No. 3 and it made no difference.

Is there any oil on the bottom of your spark plug? You sure your valve isnt sticking? Ring could have broken, cylinder could be damaged, you should really get your head machined or get a new one though, its only gonna get worse. Does your car overheat?

$$$$$$. He'd be better off just getting the head resurfaced at a machine shop. Let me try and understand this correctly. You are using a compression tester to test the sealing capability of the chamber and you are getting zero?! That's really weird. I've never seen a car get zero. Well, you either have a valve that is stuck open or some really really bad blow-by. I'm more inclined to think the valves aren't closing. Thats the only way I can see you getting such low compression test results. Get the head resurfaced, get a good head gasket, and take another look at the valvetrain. After that do another compression test and see if that changes anything. I hope that helps.

Re: 0 PSi on No. 3 Cylinder!?!

Remember that resurfacing doesnt accually fix a warped head... it just makes the bottom flat so it seals. Running a warped head will eventually lead to other problems like excessive cam wear.

Yeah, I would' bet that the vavle isn't sealing right. I got a junkyard head I'm goin to pickup for $80 for the time being until Until I get my new motor. It's a D16A6, I was going to do the Vtec swap but I changed my mind because I got enough shit already to throw on that will make it just as fast if not faster, camshaft, cam gear, ecu re-mapping, new fuel injectors etc....but thanks for all your suggestions guys. I'll let you all know how the new motor drop goes!

hey man, alright well a couple weeks ago i did a compression test on my car...0psi on cylinder 3...we supposed it was a bent valve,or that it may have been stuck...so we put transmission fluid in threw the motor to see if it would break loose...well it didnt break lose..so we didnt know what was wrong, we then took the valve cover off and turned the car over to see if everything was moving correctly..it was

so here comes to yesterday...we took the head off...the valve had about 1/4 of it chipped off and the compression wasn't stay in

i dont know if that happened to you or not but all i can say is take the head off and take a look
