Re: button for trunk stoped working
The key for your doors should be the same one for the trunk. Sounds like something in the wiring in the electric trunk release or the latch has gone bad. If you can hear it trying to pop open when you hit the inside button, have someone on the outside of the car pulling up on the trunk lid when you hit the button. If you get it open, check for something caught in the latch. Or it also made be needed to be lubricated. Just use WD-40 in the latch itself, not the electronic parts (release, etc.).

Re: button for trunk stoped working
I had to replace the release solenoid on my 1989 98. It should kick when you apply 12 volts to it's terminals. Check to see you are getting 12 volts to it when you push the release button. Use a multimeter measuring DC. If 12 volts present but no kick, the solenoid is faulty. If no 12 volts then troubleshoot the supply circuit.
