PCV Valve on 87 cavy

im still having problems with my 87 cavy stalling, so i was told to check out the PCV valve. I looked at it and it is attached to the valve cover. Is there anyway that i can get inside the actual valve itself to see if its colgged, or, if its broken, do i have to replace the whole vale cover?? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yes, the part you see unscrews and the PCV valve is inside. Kinda weird. A new one is cheap.
