Re: Engien Problems

Since you think you are going to need a new engine, I would do this instead.

Check the coolant for any sign of oil.
Check the coolant level to see if you have lost coolant and if it is low then try to add some coolant until it is at the proper level. I would just think positive at this point and probably the water pump have went out.

Check the oil dipstick for any sign of foaming (white stuff on the oil). If there is white stuff on the engine oil, then drain the old oil and put a new oil and oil filter.

Start the vehicle and let it IDLE.
Watch the tail pipe to see what color is coming out, check the temperature gauge, check the radiator fan. The radiator fan should turn on around 220 degree fahrenheit. Check the bottom vehicle or the ground for any sign of water dripping as it might be coming from the water pump.

Re: Engien Problems

if you are getting thick white smoke from exhaust you might have a bad head gasket, check to see if you are low on coolant, if you are check for external leaks if you can not see any odds are the head gasket. pull oil dipstick if oil is milky and looks like melted coffe ice cream the motor is toast if it looks ok you can replace the head gaskets.

Re: Engien Problems

If its leaking inside , id change all the gaskets to play it safe. You got warranty left? If you do your ok other wise 500-600 bucks to have new ones installed (parts and labour) if you try to do it in your back yard your gonna have fun and break stuff unless your any good with tearing apart and puttin back together Engines.

No 1 issue with the 3.1 & 3.4.....Lower Intake Gaskets. If you deceide to change gaskets, you start with the lower intake gaskets (1 weekend if your handy with the tools). If you find the gasket was OK, you're on to the head gasket (no fun what so ever). If you do it yourself, remember to label everything and take pictures!!!! Good luck. Hopefully your still under warranty.

I don't think i'm still under warranty because i have 120,000 miles on my car.. another thing when i ran my car it seems like there was no circulation at all in the cooling sysem because when i felt my hoses one the return to the radiader was not pressurised and the return to the engine was very presurissed?? any comments

Re: Engien Problems

What is condensation if it isnt water? If a warm glass is filled with cold water doesnt the condensation build up on the outside of the glass , if that condensation isn't water then what is it?
