Well Nathan4286 the answer is that there are no good rims for a 96 camry. Unless you put some 22 spinners on it, then that would be "pimped". My 85 Benz would smoke your Camry and sport rims better

Re: Best Looking Rims

jeepster needs to go over to chrysler... leave the camry's alone, you should be banned for saying to put 22's on a camry, and the camry would dust your benz

Rival Speed East Coast Crew, you should join us!
Oh yea, turbo diesels are SLOW... I'd have to break out the sun dial to time it in the 1/8!

Re: Best Looking Rims

Back to your original question Nathan since jeepster went off tangent there. Best looking rims is subjective, what looks good to one is the pits to another. I've got 17" Nakayama X7's in HyperBlack on my 2000 LE V6 with 215/45 Goodyear Eagles.

Re: Best Looking Rims

I'm running 17" Konig Tantrums on Yokohama 215/50's on my '02. Personally I think 17" is the max for a good look although there are a few folks in my neck of the woods running 18"s..

Take care,
Jerry

Best wheels are made either from Japan or Germany, because they exceed standards.

From my experience, wheels made in Italy are softer compound.

I used to have Mille Miglia Spyders on my 89 Camry V6, but they proved a bit too soft for the roads. As a result, I picked up Borbet wheels instead, which was a better choice. They are tougher than any wheels I've dealt with to date.

Jeepster, no need for the insults.
The guy just asked a simple question regarding wheels.

But, since you think you're such the "badass", let's check out this car you got...

85 Benz??? Turbodiesel huh?

Hmmmm....

Let's take a look at that, shall we?

Normal Aspirated 1985 Mercedes:

1985 MB 250D 2.5L does like 94HP
Max torque is 117lbft.
Top speed is 175Km/hr, which is only 108MPH.
Specs -> http://www.carfolio.com/specificatio...s/id/?id=31460

1985 MB 300D 3.0L does like 109HP
Max torque is 136lbft.
Top speed is 190Km/hr, which is only 118MPH.
Specs -> http://www.carfolio.com/specificatio...s/id/?id=30140

Turbo Models:

1985 MB 300TD (W123):

3.0L 5-cylinder turbocharged runs only 123HP from the factory.

Let's compare these specs to my Camry I4 and my Camry V6:

1989 Camry in factory trim:

3S-FE 2.0L 4cyl - 119HP with 130lbft torque.
Factory governor kicks in at 115MPH.

2VZ-FE 2.5L V6 - 153HP with 155lbft torque.
No governor in my car.

So from a factory standpoint, if you have a 250D, my daily driver 4-cylinder Camry is already smoking your MB; with less displacement than you have..

If you own a 3.0L 300D, then you're just barely keeping up with my 2.0L I4 daily driver. From a factory standpoint, a factory 300D can't even keep up with a factory 89 Camry V6.

A 85 300TD turbodiesel only has 4HP more than a Camry I4 with no turbo.

A 89 Camry V6 with no turbo still outruns a 85 300TD.

A 89 Camry V6 with no turbo even has more HP than a W124 E 300D turbo (147HP).

So what if you have a turbo? You're not running anything to justify that statement. Probably doesn't kick in till 3700RPM anyway....

In addition to outperforming your MB, my Camry chassis is much lighter than your MB boat. Which means 1/2 sec after take off, you're already getting left back like some bad kid in school.

I would have to guess that the W123/4 chassis are like 3000+ lbs, which is probably the reason why there is a turbo in the first place. Gotta have a way to move that oversized hull, eh?

Newer Camry models like the 96 model come out of the factory with faster specs than the 89 factory spec, which means the guy you just insulted can actually own you at will....

So based on the comparison of the specs given, the only running you're truly doing is only for groceries...

You can even try to save face by claiming that your MB is not factory. Well, guess what? Neither is my Camry V6.

So with that in mind, I advise you to chill out with that rude attitude of yours and take your MB p.o.s. back to the shopping center...

....and while you're there, you go and help your Mom out with the grocery bags, Ok? This way, you can make yourself useful instead of bashing innocent people who are just looking for advice..

Thumbs up

(2000 Camry) I just put on these yesterday from www.treadepot.com
http://www.treadepot.com/tireswheels...ers/index.html
Wheels are KTP Type 123 with Toyo Spectrum 215/60-16. Georgeous!

Excellent folks, too, and they beat tirerack.com on a very similar pagkage by $284. Free shipping. A set of 4 complete with mounting, perfect balancing, 20 locking lugs by guerilla, and centers: $599. They honor Toyo's 500 mile or 45 day test drive, too.

If I was going to do it again, I would recommend a slightly lower profile tire, as these are an inch taller than the stock 205/60-15. I'd prefer a little smaller diameter rather than slightly taller.

I'll get an actual pic soon...
