Z71 vs. F-150

I have a 2001 Z71 w/ dual exhaust...it has a 350 in it. I have this friend that has an F-150 with a 302...It has dual exhaust also. He swears up and down that he can beat my truck in the 1/8! Who really thinks that he can beat my chevy?

Oh yeah and if you never performed an engine swap then you dont have a 350 which is the 5.7l LS1 you have the 5.3 right??? If so then its a 327 LM7

Re: Z71 vs. F-150

Yea sorry that's what I meant, I was thinking of my old truck... But he is gonna throw money on it, i talked to him today! He's really ignorant, a plain cavalier almost beat him! What's worst is it's the old 96 F-150. I wasnt gonna race him, but now i think i'm gonna race him just to embarass him.

Re: Z71 vs. F-150

Im not a Big fan of the F150 even the new one, My friend just bought a new Sport trac and I checked out the new models.. the Ford looks nice in the commercial but thats the top of the line model.. the reg XLT looks like a big plastic toy truck (Kinda Like Dodge) the only one that looked good was the Lariat fx4 which costs almost $38,000 the new interiors are sweet but id rather own a chevy or GMC any day over those guys.. Sorry to ramble but your truck will beat the snot out of the Ford...Give him a run for his money and shut him up..

Re: Z71 vs. F-150

There should'nt be any race to it! The truck I have pictured (1992 Silverado, 350, auto) smoked! and I mean SMOKED! a 1996 2wd Ford with a 302. It wasn't even close man! we was rolling at about 60 mph, and I mean I literally run off and left him!

Re: Z71 vs. F-150

I let my buddy get up to my rear tire in his 03 F150 before i put the hammer down in my 00 z71. I walked away from him, TOOO EASY!! There's no contest between your truck and his.

Re: Z71 vs. F-150

I had a 88 Chevy with a 350 (189000 miles on it)
Replaced it with a 93 F150 302 (64000 miles on it)
The Chevrolet will eat it up. Not even comparible. The truck I drive at work is a 98 chev with the 4.3 v6 it will run circles around my 302. A down right embarassment. Anyone who thinks different never drove a 350. I don`t know why Gm discontinued this great engine. Best motor I ever had in a vehicle. I missed it when I bought a Ford.

Nathan let your friend take your truck for a spin. Poor boy hasn`t lived yet!!!

Once opon a time Ford had a 351 Cleveland, that I would take up against a 350. That was one motor that would scream.

The 7700 series is the f-150 with a package call 7700 it says it under the f-150 on the tail gate it is just a heavier suspension and well the overall gross weight of the truck is 7700lbs. where the Z-71 is some where around 6600-6800lbs.
