Re: Tire pressure

Open your door, look at the white sticker on the side of the door. It should tell you on there. I run mine at 32.

Re: Tire pressure

if its the stock tires, go by the air pressure in the manual. If they aren't stock tires, than go by the pressure recommended on the tire.

Re: Tire pressure

quick question about tire pressure. I have mine at the correct pressure but the front tires always seem to be riding awfully flat. is that a problem? or just cuz the engine is in the front?

Re: Tire pressure

New tubeless tires always look a lil flat on all cars unless you got big rims and lil rubber. Tire pressure even on stock tires is variable , it has a cold rating and a warm rating on the sticker justin was speaking of. Basicaly 32 lbs on most cars is optimal , its got good traction and good grip on the rear end. When you increase the pressure to lets say 36-38lbs per tire on the rear and 32-34 lbs on the front it can help minutely help increase acceleration and improve gas milage but begins diminishing the handling and grip effects especialy on the rear end. Then theres the hazzards of overinflation, pressure buildup, blow out or pressure loss did you know if you over inflate a tire it can have the same effect as overblowing up a baloon to swell and let the air out it looks different only the tire has a bead set within it and over inflation causes that bead to shift or seperate and omg who knows. I buy speed rated rotational tires only and use there suggested ratings that they allow me to choose from safely or what i can expect from different pressure settings. Tire shops love to show off there knowledge of the capabilities of the tires they sell and you can hold them to it. 32lbs all around is your best bet and driving reasonably within the speed limit and giving it high speed here and there with those ratings should be fine.

Re: Tire pressure

I worked in the tire shop for two years when I was in the military. I saw what the tire wear was like when you run it at manufacturers specs on the door. I, my self, like to go by what the tire goes by on the front. Maybe a little less than max. Of course, 30-35 on the rear(30-32-empty, 35-loaded). These front wheel drives almost never wear on the rear tires. All the were is done by the front driving tires. I'm not saying my way is correct, but it bugs me when the tires wear like they are under inflated. But that's how it's suppose to be for best traction. I want these puppies to last. Yes, radial tires tend to look under inflated in the front, where the engine is putting more wait on them. To tell you the truth, they do have a compound for tires that would last the life of your car, but the tire companies wouldn’t make enough money. Hope I'm not confusing any one. Just use what the door on your car said if you not sure. Except with those cheap Cooper tires. They usually need a little more. lol
