My friends bought me a replacement air filter from K&N.

Bolt ons would be your cheapest. But you dont want to go 2 cheap because you get what you pay for. You could do something with your exhaust. Replace the headers, cat,Cat back, muffler. You could do something with the ignition, plug wires, plugs. I would suggest looking for deals on the good products for your ride

put in some ngk iridium ix plugs. that'll be fairly cheap (50 bucks). and you'll feel a bit of a difference.

how cheap you thinking?

really light 15 or 16" wheels with good sticky tires would help a lot considering the stock rims around 22lbs i think. you can find wheels used for cheap.

cheapest is to put the car and yourself on a diet b/c the prelude is heavy to begin with.

you might be able to find used suspension for like 300..that will definitely help also.

its really easy to do all of thoes things if u know what ur doing. my sugestion is to start learning about cars because what is the point of paying someone else to do the job for you. you dont get any satisfaction out of that.

i say return the KN, forget the hyperground( you dont need to worry about that now), and get an nice Cold Air Intake or a shortram if you cant afford it the CAI. Cheapest way to get some Hp really quick is to modify your I/H/E ( intake, header, exhaust) you dont really need to worry about all that other stuff right now, besides the stock honda ignition isnt that bad

Re: noob prelude owner needs help on cheap car modifications

well, i say return the KN cuz its a filter for the stock intake right? if not and its a cone filter keep it. As for sites try Optauto.com or just go to google and type in Cold Air Intake(CAI). as for learning about honda's i suggest the book "Honda/Acura Engine Mods" i believe thats the name of the book. The author of the book is Mike Kojima.
