Shifting problems
i drive a 96 ranger xlt and recently i have been experiencing some problems with the shifting. when i start the car, it seems that the engine is already reving and that i dont even have to gas it for it to go. then after i drive it for a while and then i park it somewhere and come back to it like 8 hrs later, it wont let me shift back into first gear. simply said, after driving for half an hour, then parking it for 8 hrs, then starting to drive it again, the car wont let me shift back into first. if anyone has had this problem, can they please helpme?

Re: Shifting problems
i assum this is a manual. Sounds like you need to bleed the hydrolic brake setup. Could be low on fluid also. Now if this is an automatic, sounds like a bad IAC or TPS sensor, both are pretty easy to test, just get a chiltons manual and test.
