Cold Air Intake

Since I live in NZ and I have no idea of what a Hotshot or Stillen(where is he from again ) CAI looks like I am struggling to make my own. Can someone please help me out and post a pic. PLEASE. Also I read somewhere that it's possible to plumb the a/c towards the intake. Nifty idea ah. Anyone heard of that. Oh and i'll be waiting for the first reply to say something about living with no a/c. WINDOWS!!!!!

Please don't go without A/C man. It's not worth it. You should be doing alot of other things before this. That's for civics man, and you said in your signature that you don't respect those so respect yourself and you car.

Not only that, but the drain that the A/C compressor would put on your engine would far outweigh the air temperature difference that you would get from it. You'd get a few HP from the colder air but you'd lose HP (probably more) from running the compressor. So, you'd essentially be giving up your A/C for nothing.

I have thought of the power drain but I think it still may be worth that. On a hot day 27c degrees (don't know F) pumping 18c degree air into the intake is gonna make a difference. Besides I'm running out of things to do on a budget.(intake, exhaust, cams, ignition, comprsn)

Innovation is the mother of all invention

No. I'm not going to let you do that. he he.:hehe: The gains wouldn't be enough for me to even think about that. I've seen Honda CRX's with engine swaps do this b/c they need room for the engine but this makes no cents $0.00 What if you got a chick in the ride man, she won't like the fact that you have no A/C and this would probably be a turn-off. Think of the big picture. If it gave you like 50hp's to the wheels, then go ahead, but for a couple, nah bruh, not at all.

Doubt those 4hp will help you out against a WRX.

yeah- ummmm- wrx??? ermmmmm-

yeah- i don't think the extra 4hp will help with a wrx...

maybe if you dumped your girlfriend and lightened the load... hrmmmm-but where would she sit??

hrmmmmmmm... how about - put your girlfriend in the wrx to weigh it down and lighten up your car and do the A/C idea... and maybe you'll have a chance...

:smoker:

j/k bro- but seriously- don't do the A/C idea... not only does it pump out cold air- it also dehumidifies the air- i dunno about u but- humidity=sweat but if your girl likes you all sweaty... go for it.

c.

Those 4hp are all good, rather be 204hp than 200hp. That WRX would be gone.
OK, so no AC thing but only on the condition that you guys come up with something else I can do that is not real expensive and means my girl won't be sitting in some fellas WRX !!!!!!!! If ya can't, just call me MR CRX!

And anyway what if I like me all sweaty

Dumping the AC isn't such a bad thing. I'm dumping mine soon to drop weight. As a by product, I will gain a little if at all and rev a little faster. If I was smart, I would throw on some pulleys at the same time. I don't know about routing the AC towards the intake though. Then again, it never hits triple digits, and only gets semi-hot for about 3 months. Most of the time it's overcast or rains, so it's perfect for me.
