Needing some advice

Hey all, I'm new here but i searched around on the forums a little. Got a 97 RS back in october. haven't really had the money tho till now (well maybe even not now... gotta pay off whatever the final outcome is from my 88 in a 50 ticket, with the careless and "failure to keep to the right" tickets that he tacked on also, goddamn county's...) (so i think im gonna get a radar detector... what's recommended? is the valentine worth the $400/ what else is good and not too expensive?) to do any upgrades. I've been considering intake and exhaust, seems a majority of people say borla or magnaflow on exhaust, and i've found that a lot of people prefer the SLP cold air intake. Anyone have any other suggestions for me? I was also considering a high-flow cat for after that, what types are good/will give the best performance? or should i go with a new rear end (thinking of a torsen, im pretty sure mines got an open since only my right tire spins when burning out)? Thanks in advance for advice.

Re: Needing some advice

it seemed to help my dads 86 chevy blazer
with a 305, it smoked a little, and had lost some of its power, he bought the stuff and said it restored compression, and it stopped smoking, but make sure
you buy the kind for your motor!

Re: Needing some advice

Flowmaster vettemaan? I've heard that while they make good parts for the most part their v6 system is better to stay away from (although I am curious if the system for my car is different since they have that resonator on it), thats why i was looking towards magnaflow (also cuz ive found the magnaflow set for less $$)

Re: Needing some advice

A flowmaster over a magnaflow probably isnt a big difference in horsepower. If theres a big difference in price id go with the cheaper one.

Re: Needing some advice

Theres no way that thing is worth 200 bucks. You should be able to get a catback for like a couple hundred more and that would be way more worth it.
You should be able to rig up your own cold air intake I would think.
