american h22's
which american models have h22's in them, and how much should a used one go for around here (range)? i was planning on going turbo, but i've been looking into internals, or lack thereof, and realized i will never ever be able to run much boost, or blow engine if i do, and then i'd have to swap anyways.

no clue. i'm sure it'd depend on the location of the junkyard and the owner. if you live down south i'm sure it'd be a lot less expensive then NE or Cali junkyards simply b/c if it ain't stamped Ford, GMC or Chevy people consider it worthless. (very generalized but true) i paid 200 for a complete head/intake/throttlebody off an h22a1. i'm sure they're out there for cheaper, just gotta start combing the piles. |

Re: american h22's
there probaly basically the same price all around the country. but they are expensive in new jersey, where honda engines are in high demand.
i think hes saying theres hicks in the south that just drive cars from the Big 3. which isnt totally accurate because theres alot of hicks in new jersey too. |

Grimple 1 is correct, resent it if you wish
I live in the south myself and Grinple 1 is fairly correct with his remarks about the big 3 down here, which is really a plus for us folks who know the big 3 cannot compete with Honda quality. I just picked up an 84 Accord in super nice shape, all I had to do was throw some new tires on it and am using it as my daily driver, and I paid an outragous price for it $50, yet if it had been one of the big 3 in a similar vehicle, I probably couldn't have touched it for less than $500 and I sure wouldn't be getting 30+ mpg either

Just supporting Grimple 1 comments
Yes I know your talking blocks, and I only commented in support of Grimple 1 comments concerning southern pricing and in general a less than enlightened region of the country where one is apt to find the best prices on h22's or any other Honda related items. I merely cited the example I have recently acquired to validate the support I offered towards Grimple 1's statement
