I don't know if this will help or not, but I had a '96 Z34, purchased new, that had a lot of troubles with stalling (or nearly stalling) at low engine speeds. First two times that the engine actually died on the move, they determined that I needed a new PCM (computer). The third time, they diagnosed a stuck cam, which then required disassembly of a big part of the engine. Time #4 and it was a new engine, and likely a new trannie, since that took a big hit during all of these shenanigans. I traded it before 11K miles and before the engine was replaced.

Sounds like the EGR valve is sticking. Check out this link: http://autorepair.about.com/cs/gener.../bldef_165.htm
