fuel pressure regulator/theft light

I just got a 96 z24 3 days ago, and it's already broken, which is unfortunate because I liked the car more than i thought i would. The car just turned off on the highway and the theft system light came on. I dont know if the two problems are related or not. After the car died I tried to start it again and it started right up and went for another few minutes. I did this until i finally got off the highway at which point it died and would not start again. I went to try again today and the same thing happened but i noticed that it was leaking gas ou of the fuel pressure regulator. i also changed the radio the day before, but if it was the theft system according to other posts it would die almost instantly. if anyone has any advise on changing the regulator, i'd appreciate it. I have a haynes manual and it doesn't seem very difficult but if there's anything tricky you could give me the heads up on that would help.

thanx

Re: fuel pressure regulator/theft light

if you got the 2.4 it's not that hard. but you will need the star head bits to loosen it.
