flylwsi and youngvr4:questions answered

From the thread that was closed:

flylwsi said "since you did as well as you have, have you been approached by sponsors, etc?"

One sponsor approached me after Englishtown, but I approached another business with what they offered me. The second took the offer and I prefered to deal with them since I know them. That is ATS Racing you see in my signature. The photo links to their site.

I approached a second sponsor today. So I am actively trying to get sponsored.

youngvr4 said"yeah any mags"
Super Street took some photos at Englishtown and Modified took a bunch of photos at ATCO. There are some photos of Hyde from both races from Modified and Urban Racer here:
http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/HydePhotos.htm

Hopefully this will all lead somewhere. Super Street did a 2 page spread (with a small cover shot) on 2 of my other MR2s in May of '98. Unfortunately that article was one horrible wrecks ... both of those turbos were smoked

Thanks everyone ...

I have no idea if Modified mag is going to do a feature or not ... I talked to the assistant editor at the last NHRA event and he took a bunch of photos of my set up. He said he would talk to his editor about it. That was only 4 days ago - so who knows

As for my future project ... by the end of August, I should have:
*custom top-feed fuel rail with much larger injectors
*EMS (engine management system)
*HKS cams (272 intake/264 exhaust)
*adjustable cam gears)
*custom intake manifold.
Right now I have over 260 rwhp (pump gas) and over 320 rwhp (race gas)
After install of these parts, we will be looking for 330 on pump and over 400 rwhp on race gas. We'll see ... my engine does have a 197,200 miles on it.

The sponsor is picking up enoguh of the tab to make me happy
This is the intake manifold that I ordered:
http://www.rossmachineracing.com/mr2intake.html

... should flow some more air.

Re: flylwsi and youngvr4:questions answered

Hyde's engine has never been opened and that is documented.

197,200 miles ... original stock headgasket, pistons, cams, valves, etc. Even the fuel pump is original

Re: flylwsi and youngvr4:questions answered

Actually I bought Hyde at 180,000 miles and he was 100% stock.

The previous owner was amazingly anal about keeping records (gave every receipt he ever had from the car to me in a leatherette cache case).
He was also anal about oil changes.... lots of them

I got out of my way to make power as safe as possible. Water injection is a huge key to my engine safety.
