Re: Motor Swap

how many miles is on the f22? i doubt thats a great price for it, might as well go to a junk yard and strip an old accord of its f22, itll be stronger too since its built of steel, and shoudl still bolt right in, and with around 50k miles you can proly get for about 100, i think

<RANT/>
To all the people who posted and didn't actually answer the question: WHY? Over ten posts and not one person answered his question. This is forum to answer questions and the like. Not to give out vague tidbits of knowledge in order to gain a free post. To those who actually help, I apologize. I just don't like free posters...
</RANT>

KidBlizzard: The f22 will bolt up to the transmission and your friend will not need new motor mounts. The f22 is basically a destroked h22 so it is all pretty much the same components. The exhaust linkage I am not so sure about but I am thinking that it should bolt right up. Maybe one of the more experienced members can help....

i just wanted to point out the f22 is NOT a destroked h22, they're both 2.2 liters, so how could one be destroked from the other? You must be mistaking it for the f20b. The real difference is:

f22 = sohc non vtec
h22 = dohc vtec

But you are correct, the f22 tranny will bolt up, and he will not need new mounts.

As far as i know, the exhaust will not readily bolt on, but with simple and minor modification from a local muffler shop, it should be cheap to get it to get it chopped and/or extended so it can fit correctly.

Hope this helped, and good luck.
