Shaving dooorhandles

How do I use putty to shave doorhandles? Should I sand down the area to be shaved and then apply putty?

you've pretty much got it.
I use a file to level the handle to the body of the car and putty is just to make the area where the handle was as smooth as the rest of the body.

Man you ask a lot of questions...Not trying to start anything, Im just wondering. But have you ever tried to figure out something on your own? It seems like your going to want us to build the model next.

I know what you mean. Sometimes it can be rather simple if you think about things.

i use a flat x-exto blade it look's like a chisel
lay it flat to the handle and push it will trim it off
nice and flat sand the area a bit and putty
i've done 3 0r 4 cars that way works great

I might do shaved handles on the shelby. Don't know yet. But putty work isn't hard at all.

asking questions is good. you cant ask to many. some people just want other peoples opinion becuase maybe they are new or they just want to do ti the right way, and dont know what they are doing, and dont want to mess up a model they just got......

a good tool for sanding is sanding blocks for finger nails it is reusable and woks great

well then if it were not for asking questions, then there might only be a few people who could make really good models. when people want to ask how they can make it shine like that or so they can't because the forum is not for asking questions. plus, if sombody had the same question, they wouldn't have to wonder and mess up a few kits just trying to figure out how to do it...

I never said asking questions was a bad thing. Just he asks a lot of questions. I dont blame him either.
