2000 Jetta engine drivebelt (serpentine)

Hi everyone.
I own a 2000 Jetta w/ a VR6 2.8L engine and I am trying to figure out what the exact process of changing the drivebelt (serpentine) is. My car does have ac, so there naturally is a little more length in the belt. I read in the service manual for 1.8 and 2.0L engines that there is a tensioner that needs to be turned in order to release the belt. It says that this is done from above. But when I went and looked under my hood, it seemed impossible to find (much less turn) this tensioner. If someone can give me an accurate description of what exactly I need to do, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you may need to remove your engine cover to get to the tensioner. and these pics will look a little different since there are a few things that a reversed on mk4's and mk3's, like the airbox for example. feel free to email me if you have any questions.
