need mechanics help!!!

i have recently bought a 89 240 sx and replaced the starter. engine wants to turn over but just won't. I recently replaced the pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires. Battery is new. vehicle is my first project car. I love the mechanical work but after reading every book available, I am stuck. Help or expert knowlegde would be awesome! thanks in advance.

check the distributor cap and rotor, then look at the mafs and check the wires running to it. Next check the fuel pump.

What do you mean engine wants to turn over but will not??????? are you saying the starter is trying to turn the engine but the engine will not turn??? cause if thats the case, your motor might be locked up, and what would cause that could be a couple of reasons.
