Unhappy 03 Cav oil change question

ok, i have driven a chevy of some sort for most of my driving life and have been changing the oil in my car for a long time. so why can't i find the oil drain plug on my '03 Cavalier (2.2 ecotec)? i found the filter no problem, but can't find where to drain the oil. do i have to remove the pan or something? or am i just being dumb and missing something obvious? any help is appreciated. thanks.

Re: 03 Cav oil change question

I have recently purchased an 04 Cavalier (2.2 ecotec) and haven't yet changed the oil, but I notice the oil drain plug is on the backside of the pan (firewall side) near the very bottom and more to the right side of the pan (not in the middle of the pan). Since I am not familiar with the 03, yours might be in a slightly different place, or maybe they messed up and forgot to install a drain plug. In any event it is unlikely that you would have to remove the pan to drain the oil.
