Transmission stopped engaging/hold light flashing
Hi,
The transmission on my '92 626LX has abruptly stopped working without any warning. The car was running fine, smoothly shifting without delays until one day I stopped and then pressed the accelerator to go again and the engine revved but the car stayed put. Haven't got it to move since. Have checked the transmission fluid, it's full... Since then, the hold light has started flashing when I start the ignition. The engine also revs faster than normal when idle, ocsillating between about 1500 and 2000rpm. I was thinking there could be an electrical problem? Or could it be a problem with the transmission itself (hoping not, have had quotes for rebuilding the transmission and its expensive!) Thanks! |

Replace the throttle position sensor. Its near the back of your intake manifold.
