USA Evolution specs

I heard some news regarding the Lancer Evolution we will be getting here in the states. The Yellow car shown at the LA Auto Show is a German spec VII and was for display only. The biggest hurdle for the kids at Mitsubishi is going to be getting the American 5mph spec bumpers up front. To do this, I hear they are looking at going to a split intercooler design (left and right side). This will no doubt rob us of some power, as will the cat. converters that they will install just like Scooby had to on the WRX.

But who cares! Buy your Lancer Evolution at your neighborhood Mitsubishi dealer, rip off the US spec equipment, slap on the JDM bumpers and intercooler, and 276 hp (280PS) comes faster than you can say "domo arigato!"

Show me a better (new) car for $28,500 (target MSRP) and I'll buy it!

I don't respect anyone with 'Rice' or 'AzN' in their name.
Look it up tough guy...read some past posts...you'll find it.

I just find it humorous that all these "SPECS" for US market Lancer Evolutions are posted when Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America themselves don't know what the list of equipment will be yet. But so long as it keeps people excitied about the car, I guess it doesn't really matter.

Don't be fooled by what the "what can I do to put you in this car today" dealers say. If you don't trust people who have "rice" in their name (like some people who don't have a sense of humor), then do yourself a favor and keep checking real facts for yourself at the Mitsubishi media web site. Besides, I don't trust people who use CAPS in parts of their name and spout off to on web sites.

Mitsubishi will also be running an Evolution VII (New Zealand spec) car in the 2002 season of the SCCA Pro Rally Series. In addition, they're gonna have a modified Lancer OZ Rally edition running in the production spec class. If you can believe that?! Putting the "rally" in OZ Rally I guess.
