After market brake pad question
I have a 2002 v6 accord and i need new brake pads in front. Can/should i consider ceramic pads. my last set of OE brakes lasted 17,000 miles and i am not an aggressive driver. Looking for very high quality pads for street use. Suggestions / info appreciated thanks ron

Re: After market brake pad question
only 17K ml?
there is only two reasons for short brake pads life; there is something wrong with your brake system or you are lying about your driving style. There are no brake pads on market that will considerably exceed life span and performance of OEM brake pads. you can get OEM pads for $35+shipping @ http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...BRAKE+%28V6%29

Maybe I'm wrong but 17000 miles seems pretty good for stock pads. Considering normal wear and tear is 12000-15000 miles on a car. I change my pads every year which is around that many miles.

Re: After market brake pad question
Man, someone is heavy on the brakes. I used to get 40-50K on my pads. I always used Honda pads.

Get EBC Green Stuff
also check out Satisfied I would not buy ceramic brake pads if i were you especially if you still have stock rotors. And ceramic is definetly not recommended on the street. Stay with semi metallic. ceramic requires a "heat up" period, which is not very practical for street use.

Quote:
They definitely last much longer, but they take longer to heat up also. During normal driving conditions, that would definitely be a No No.

just so you can have an idea of a basic street setup, im going to be getting DBA slotted rotors with EBC Green stuff pads. about mid price, entry level performance that is still very reliable. take your time and research alot.
