sun roof cracking noises

there's a very annoying cracking noise comming from the sunroof, when the sun roof is open, no noise, when it's closed completely, it makes a cracking noise... does anyone else had this problem before? i think it's cause the sunroof loosens up when i drive.. so how do i take care of the noise?

Is it a manual or electronic opening sunroof? My 94 was a manual. If I took the sunroof out and didn't put it back in properly, it would give a squeeking sound, but it was a simple matter to just pop it back in the right way.

Re: sun roof cracking noises

you should try using some w-d40 lubricant on the rails, if its sticking or dry it may be making a rattling or cracking noise like you described.
