Water pump Ford Ranger
I have had my 93 Ford Ranger (3.0 6 cylinder) for six years, the past two days it starts leaking what I thought was coolant from the radiator not so. The lead is directly behind the radiator and belts, is this a water pump problem? The gages are reading normal level for everything. It leaks after I drive it, and then stops. This morning it gushed out water or something. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks. |

When you say behind the rad & belts, I assume you mean the front of the engine? If so, that's the water pump. They make a small hole in them to leak & let you know when they're going bad. With the engine cool open the rad cap, start the engine, let it warm up & see if the water is flowing when the thermastat opens. Also look to see if it leaking from around the thermastat(where the top rad hose connects to the engine)Good Luck!!
