Once contour.org is back up and running I'll search the forums for you. Virginia got hit pretty hard yesterday with a storm which I think has shut down the servor.

I had a 98 contour and after they replaced the transmission in it, I was getting a air bag failure code. They had to go back and replace a sensor that is in the steering column from what I understood it was near the end of it because they had to take the rack and pinion loff to get to it. It was somsort of a spring wire, they fixed it and said they had seen the problem before but had never broken one. They also said it would not hurt anything to drive it but you air bag would not work. It is disabled when something like that happens. It was something that someone who knows what they are doing has to fix.
Good Luck
