What should i do while engine is out

ok now im taking my engine out of my 5speed which has 167k miles on it
and putting it in my auto


now im not trying to sup up my car

but what are some good maintenance tips for me
while i have the engine out?

clean the engine bay

Buy a rebuild kit, just to freshen it up.

If engine is out, I always replace the water pump, worn out hoses, replace oxygen sensors, and while you are at it, I would put equal lenght headers but those are performance stuff. Just do a visual inspection, and replace what needs to be replaced, BUT I always replace the emission parts, like O2 sensors, PCV Valve, check smog pump if you have one.

Take the oil pan off and look inside for foriegn objects and metal shavings. Clean it out well. Then I would clean the entire engine with gunk. Replace the clutch if you haven't in a while.

well i am going to automatic,

how much is a rebuild kit? and how hard is it?

im just trying to have decent transportation til i move into a house and can finance something else

one because i have uncontrollable driving havits with 5speed

and i have too many problems with my 5speed

and i dont wanna convert the auto to manual

Well my friend got a rebuild kit and it was like 600 bucks, and he said it was a whore at times and easier at times.

i say towlie you make your whole car into a gaint bong while the engine is out. Then get really high. Then see if you can put everything back together stoned.
