The same symtom was happening to a 94GC 5.2 I own. After research I replaced the fuel pump and fixed the problem. As I recall it has something to do with a detail that when heated expands and prevents other parts from turning thus seizes the pump. I drove the Jeep for 2yrs. like that and finally left me stranded.

When you are driving and the engine just suddenly cuts off but all your electrical (radio, lights, etc) are still on, the problem is your crankshaft position sensor. I had that problem last year with my 94 JGC. After having the sensor replaced, it had never happened again.
Happy truckin'.

Re: Re: Re: Stalls And Cuts Off

does the oil pressure drop to nothing before the engine does? if so it might be prudent to check the oil pump. if the pick up tube is leaking it could cause catostrphic failure.

Would u send me (Joe, [email protected]) a pic of your Vacuum harness that is connected to the EGR Valve, both Sides of Intake Manifold, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Purge Solenoid, etc... Please, I need to make one, the dealer says it is discontinued and unavailable to them and that I would have to improvise (which means make my own). I had a fire and burnt the vacuum lines up.
