electronic vcc
so i am getting a jdm gauge cluster for my 91 civic, and i was told that i need to make or get an eletronic vss. so, how do i go about doing this?

get a speed sensor off any 92+ civic or 94+ integra they should all work. and just stick it in the transmission where the spedo cable goes.

Ive got one out of a 94 teg....but its also in a teg tranny....and a teg cluster....so Im not much help

its pretty tricky to get a electronic vss into a d series cable tranny (88-91) if you try to just stick it in there it doesnt fit, the mounting ears are in the wrong spots and it hits the tranny case. Also the little gear that goes down into the tranny is different on the newer cars. I made one awhile back out of the original vss and an electronic vss. If I remember right I used the gear off the old vss, and the body of the new vss and cut both ears off it... just use some jb weld or epoxy to hold it in place, they fit in really snug anyways. hope that helps, go to the junkyard and snag a couple electronic vss's to work with and remember at the junkyard if it fits in your pocket its free

sticking the VSS in and making it work are 2 different things...make sure you wire it right.
