fingernail polish paint
Well i'm looking to try and make a mystichrome paint job like the 04 cobras can come with and found some fingernail polish that is DAMN close to the right color. Is there anyway i can thin that enough to spray it through my airbrush? How would you go about painting with fingernail polish? If i am able to think it enough what should i use to thin it?
Thanks, William

Iv'e thinned nail polish with thinner or some other "hot" solvent. You need to prime the body with something that's strong enough to withstand the hot caracter of the nail polish. Otherwise it will etch in to the plastic and ruin the body. I tried to put on a protective coat with Modelmasters metalizers and that worked just fine. You also gets a metallic effect that shines through the top coats. I don't know but it should work with Tamiya spray cans to, as it's a kind of lacquer paint and then you will have more options on the base coat color.
Good luck! Niclas |
