Question EVO price change

Hey I was wondering in about two years what would the price likely be for a used EVO...I know milage counts and condition of the car and all that...but is it possible for an EVO in almost new condition like say anywhere from 20,000 to 30,000 miles to be less than 20 grand?

Thanks

Re: EVO price change

I'd say that a 2-year old EVO with 30K miles would go for about $25,000. So if you want one for twenty grand, you'd have to wait 3 or 4 years. I'm just gonna get a 2002 WRX now, since the EVO is too much for me to handle at this point anyways, but it certainly is one hell of a car.

Re: EVO price change

the 2k5 evo MR is only gonna run around 33K brand new, since it has some significant upgrades that increase performance i'll bet the non-MR evo's price will plummit. i know mitsu and nissans are different in depreciation but i bought my 2k2 maxima w/ 32,000 miles about 10 months ago for $20k. once the 2k4's were introduced the prices on pre-owned's fell fast. the sticker price brand new was $31k with all the options. kman's prbably right but i'll bet it'll even be lower than $25K.

Re: EVO price change

yeah I understand what you guys are saying...but like there are some evo's out there that have 10xxx miles and they are going for like 24 and stuff...so I mean add about 20 to 30 thousand more miles it's got to be dropped to at least $20k am I wrong??

Re: EVO price change

that's what i was trying to say. whoever owned my car before me left the window sticker in it and it had a brand new price of $31K and i got it for $20K in june of 2003(it's a 2k2) so if the depreciation is at all similar between the two companies i don't see why you wouldn't be able to get one for about the same price i paid or less considering the new model(the EVO MR) that's been introduced.

Re: EVO price change

yeah...I was also thinking which would be the way to go...in about one year I would have the money to finance a used evo...and in about 2 years I would have the money to almost buy one cash..with about 3 grand loaned or something...and I am an impatient person so I'm not sure...

any thoughts?

Re: EVO price change

save for the 2 years as if you were going to buy the evo flat out, then take that money and put it down on an R35 GTR skyline.

i heard they were goning to be in the same price range as a brand new Q45, which is $59K and the best part is that it'll be warranteed by Nissan.

I'd shop around. Lots of deals on ebay and lots of SCAMS too.

Re: EVO price change

Honestly, I wouldn't wanna buy an Evo with much more than 20,000 miles. Odds are it's been driven pretty damn hard.

without question, but that's why car companies have warrantees. i may be wrong but i also believe that mitsu puts a governor on the car at around 4K rpm for the first few hundred or thousand miles in order to be sure there was a proper break in period alotted before the beating began.
