I just ordered a V.I.N etching kit from VinGuard.org which comes with the stuff to chemically etch your VIN on all of the windows on your car. It is recommended by the police and AAA. Anyway, after you put the VIN on all of your windows, there are two decals to put on the front driver and front passenger doors to warn would-be-thieves. It makes professional car thieves who are looking to part out your car not want the vehicle, because in order to do so, they would have to replace all of the glass on the car. It's also supposed to lower your insurance premiums. Anyway, I was just curious to see if anyone else has done this. I ordered my kit, like I said, from VinGuard.org for $29.99, however there are many websites you can get it from - Vinshield.com ect. Professtionally I was quoted about $170

Re: V.I.N Etching on 2002 Alero
I used the kit to do this which came to me in about a week and a half. I contacted my insurance agent afterwards and although it didn't lower my premium, it lowered my deductable from $500 to $250 in the case of a theft or accident at no extra charge. BTW I have Farmers insurance.
