My motor is running rich when cold, or at least that is when it when I notice it. It runs better when warmed up. I finally had a check engine light pop for it, but no more ideas for fixing it.
My repairs include: New ERG EGR control temp sensor fuel reg TBI base gasket O2 sensor new vapor canister new hoses fuel filter TPS map reset timing I have sprayed carb cleaner all around the intake and TBI and have not found any more leaks. I think it is a vacuum leak. The only thing left that uses vacuum is the heater controls and they do not work correctly either. Could this be the problem? I am tring to avoid paying for a qouted $70 an hour fee to have this checked (told minumum two hours maybe more to identify the problem). Thanks for any help offered- - Ingoldx1 |

Re: 89' 350 TBI running rich when cold
Vent selection controls not working is indicative of a vacuum leak. Work from your controls back to find leak.

The manuals are no help with checking the controls. I will be changing the heater core this weekend and I will look at the controls. Any ideas? My burb has been rebuilt with a texas body, so most items have been touched at one time or another.
Thanks for looking and any help! - Ingoldx1 |
