How to set static timimg on 93 convertible

Hello all
I'm a newbie and have a question for the forum. I just bought a 93 convertible that had been abused and was sitting in a field for 2 years. I was told the engine had a knock when it was parked. I started stripping it and found the timing pulley was loose. Purchased new pulley, key, belts etc and no knock when I started it (after changing all fluids etc) but it revved at 2500. I started looking and the TPS was out of spec and the timing appeared way off. I set the TPS to spec and adjusted the timing by ear and now she is running fairly sweet.
I have the Haynes manual (most useless book except for the torque specs) and it says to jumper the diagnostic connector terminals C and D.
Heres the kicker the haynes shows a 4 terminal diagnostic plug with A,B,C,D terminals and my Metro has a 6 terminal connector with 5 of them used and one blank. I dont want to go grounding out any old wire and blowing up computers and stuff.
Does anyone out there have the specs on what to jumper to be able to set the static timimg with no electronic advance/retard going on.
If anyone has the fuse box layout of what fuses go where that would also be appreciated. I know about the diagnostic terminal and that works fine but the hackers who had this pulled all the fuses and the haynes manual does not impart this little jewel of information.
Verbose for a newbie I know but I appreciate yr time reading this and any answers offered.

Re: How to set static timimg on 93 convertible

The Chilton book says: "With a 6 terminal connector, hold the connector with the locking tab at the top and jumper the two terminals at the lower left (D and E)"
