I have heard, that the stock rs2.5 ( brand new ) cant handle boost very well... Ive been told the wrx has oil injectors in the pistons... and can handle much more boost...

What do i need to know?
I'm planning on buying within the next few weeks!

Thanks for your help

$5,000 should be enough for new pistons and rods, a basic turbo or SC kit, an ECU and a couple fuel mods, and have some left over. You'd still have to find somewhere to get it installed though...

Re: A question

IMO you shouldn't crack open a 2.5RS engine to build it up when there are so many other cheaper options. Like STI shortblocks for 1500, or entire JDM swaps for ~2500. Besides the 2.5 will be faster than a wrx (maybe even a lightly modded one) with just intake, headers, header back exhaust, flywheel, clutch and then a shot. maybe an ecu as well.

Re: A question

no, what i'm saying is, that's a better route IMO since you can get reliable turbocharged power for 1/2 the cost of building a 2.5 engine from scratch.

ok, basically yes.

Re: A question

I'd go for the STi short block, you can decide what you want in the engine then so if you want to put a large turbo on it later, you can. Might cost more money in the long run but you'll have better results.

True dat Mine is faster than a stock WRX with just intake, headerback exhaust, clutch, and a 55 shot. I can out trap-speed a WRX with an exhaust and MBC. I was just throwing out a hypothetical way to spend $5000. I agree the STi shortblock is a better option
