Question Oil Temp Gauge Fluctuations

Does the Oil Temp gauge fluctuate during acceleration? I used to have an Audi, and the oil temperature did not fluctuate as I revved the engine. For example, I step on the gas, and the oil temp goes up as I am accelerating. Just curious if that is normal.

Re: Oil Temp Gauge Fluctuations

Hi,
It seems to me that you may be looking at the oil pressure gauge.
There is no oil temp gauge.
This will go up with the engine RPM. Idle is around 40, higher RPMS bring it to 60, max is 80.
The Yukons do have a water temp gauge. This starts at 160, normal is 210, max is 260.
Hope this helps.
Take care, Eggert
