$1.28 for premium gas anyone?

Since when did premium gas become so much cheaper compared to regular unleaded?

When I stopped at this gas station in Livonia, MI yesterday, I looked at the pump and couldn't believe my eyes:

Unleaded 89 - $2.09
91 - $2.18
Premium 93 - $1.28

I was pissed that I had a civic because I could fill it up with only 9 more gallons.

For $11.67 I got a little more than 9 gallons.

I live in Illinois, but I refueled in Livonia, MI, about 20 min south of Detroit. I should have bought a few empty canisters and filled them up.

Re: Re: $1.28 for premium gas anyone?

I have a friend who works at a gas station and for shits and giggle we switched the gas price to 11.1 cents a liter and watched as everyone lined up only to tell them it was 91.1 and they did not have a 9 in store. His manager wasn't too pleased when he came in

Damn, $1.28 a gallon, I remember when that seemed like a rediculous price for gas...

They use PON (Pump Octane Number) in the US (different grading system.) Their 89 is like our 91, and their 93 is like our 98 (synergy, bp ultimate etc). Although I get the inkling that they get better stuff - our so-called "98" is absolute weasel piss

True that!

The gas/petrol in the states is HEAPS better than the shit we got here in New Zealand. Man I wouldn't give to be able to pump some CAM2 105 race gas into the old girl!
