Question Drifter X?

What the hell ever happend to Drifter X of SIGNAL Auto? Although I heard he has not ever actually competed/qualified in D1 (so this would explain why we have not seen him at any of the D1 events) and the last I heard of him was that he got hurt in a drifting accident in Osaka. Just wondering... cus I have not heard much about him since the beginning of the 'drift-craze'.

well, seeing that he never qualified for D1 and that his "fame" only came since super street made him out to be a huge role in the drifting scene, i'm not suprised we haven't gotten any info on him.Super Street went way overboard describing his techniques an how good he was. When in reality he was being beaten constantly by newbs.

the accident was a fake.

Komatsu just wanted out.

he didn't like how big of a celebrity Signal was making him. he was, and maybe still is, the biggest most well known name in drifting on this side of the pond. which doesn't make much sense seeing as he's not THAT good...but never-the-less. he wanted out of the spotlight.

he left Signal. he no longer drives for, nor works for them. he no longer competes in D1 either. he still drifts, however. at small BM Hai events and other such underground events. his car (his personal car, a 180SX that used to be the same color as the Signal twins) is now cherry red and sports different aero and no Signal stickers.

Re: Drifter X?

WoW... so he dumped SIGNAL? I was kinda confused when I seen Kuroi/"Cool-Roy" as one of the SIGNAL twins... in place of Drifter X. But after I seen Kuroi drift I was like: 'Drifter-X-Who?' But I was just curious as to what happend to him... he just kinda fell off the face of the Earth. I guess that's what he wanted though... thanks, Guys!

Kuroi's a much better driver in my opinion. he's older, more experienced, has been in the game longer etc.

i was kinda pissed. when people found out that Kuroi would be taking Komatsu's place at the Signal exhibition here last September, they all got mad...none of them realize that Kuroi is a much better driver, who actually QUALIFIES for D1...whereas Komatsu doesn't.

Kuroi only drives for Signal on North American soil though. in Japan, his ride is a bright yellow 972hp RB26DETT powered One-Via from his own shop, RiverSide. for D1 competition, he usually de-tunes it to about 500hp though.

Bai and Kuroi are making a return appearance here on June 6th, but this time they're bringing Team Orange (Tanaka, Asamoto, and Kumakubo), and as well, Kida is bringing the 1000hp Signal R34. i can't wait...

Re: Drifter X?

Speaking of Drifter x, i downloaded some video that highlited him driftying in an industrial district in japan with his boys. What i foud interesting is that he runs 17s front, and 18s rear and he has more camber in the rear than front. (it was an old video, cuz he still had his signal car without the s15 front end)

it might not have been that old. his personal car was a 180SX in the same copper color with some of the same stickers, but it had a regular 180SX front end on it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure his personal car had the S15 front-end. That is how SIGNAL got there idea for the SIGNAL Twin Sil-80's...

www.driftnation.com

if you're a ricer, don't go.

and 1via - i have a picture of his personal car from a magazine. it definitley had a regular 180SX front. maybe he put an S15 front on later, but as far as i know, it was and still is a normal 180SX. Bai has an S15 as his personal car.
